On 12 September 2025, Corra Legal participated in a national seminar hosted by PERBANAS (Perhimpunan Bank Nasional) on “Menyoal Royalti Lagu & Musik”. The hybrid event drew more than 800 participants, including compliance directors and senior decision-makers from leading Indonesian banks.

Our Senior Partner, Mohamad Kadri, spoke alongside Riyo Hanggoro Prasetyo (intellectual property practitioner and academic) and Bigi Ramadha (Head of Legal, Wahana Musik Indonesia – WAMI). The panel addressed the legal framework governing copyright and royalties under Law No. 28/2014, Government Regulation No. 56/2021, and related ministerial regulations, with emphasis on corporate obligations in music licensing, performing rights, and event management.

Key issues discussed included:

• Legal risks for corporations when hosting concerts, client gatherings, or promotional events.

• Use of background music in commercial spaces and digital marketing campaigns.

• The role of LMK/LMKN and questions around direct licensing.

• Practical considerations in drafting contracts with event organizers to ensure royalty compliance.

The seminar featured dynamic discussions and interactive presentations, as reflected in the photos. With compliance directors and senior decision-makers from the banking sector in attendance, the sessions underscored the importance of copyright and royalty compliance for financial institutions.
